Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental examinations, cleanings, extractions, and dental radiographs using veterinary dental terminology and equipment. Assist with anesthesia administration, monitoring vital signs during procedures, and ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained throughout dental treatments. Handle animal restraint safely and effectively during dental procedures, utilizing knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology. Manage front-desk duties including scheduling appointments, greeting clients warmly, and processing payments with proficiency in veterinary software. Communicate clearly with pet owners about treatment plans, post-procedure care, and preventive dentistry advice. Support veterinary surgical assistance by preparing surgical instruments, assisting during procedures, and maintaining sterile environments. Conduct laboratory work such as blood draws (phlebotomy), sample collection for diagnostic testing, and operating medical equipment like radiology devices for diagnostic imaging. Maintain detailed records of patient histories, treatments, medication administration, and follow-up care to ensure compliance with veterinary standards. Requirement An associate degree in veterinary science or animal medicine is required. Dental Technician experience required. Proven kennel experience combined with animal husbandry skills to ensure optimal pet care before and after procedures. Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy to support dental and general veterinary care. Experience with veterinary critical care including emergency medicine scenarios such as IV insertion, vascular access, anesthesia monitoring, and animal catheterization. Familiarity with laboratory procedures like phlebotomy and diagnostic radiology to assist in comprehensive patient diagnostics. Knowledge of veterinary anesthesia techniques including general anesthesia protocols and critical & intensive care management. Ability to handle dogs confidently through training or experience in dog handling and animal restraint techniques. Proficiency in veterinary software for scheduling, record keeping, and billing processes. Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners on pet health needs effectively.
