Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Registered Veterinary Technician or Equivalent, where your expertise will directly impact animal health and well-being. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate patient care, assist veterinarians with diagnostic and surgical procedures, and ensure the highest standards of veterinary medicine are upheld. Your skills in animal handling, laboratory work, anesthesia, and emergency care will be essential to delivering outstanding veterinary services in a fast-paced, supportive environment. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and care Perform laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnoses Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments following veterinary protocols Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques for various species including dogs, cats, and equines Manage anesthesia administration and monitoring during surgical procedures to ensure patient safety Conduct venipuncture (phlebotomy), IV insertions, and vascular access for fluid therapy or medication delivery Operate medical equipment such as radiology machines, dental units, and diagnostic imaging tools like X-ray systems Maintain detailed medical records using veterinary software while ensuring compliance with aseptic techniques Support pet grooming, pet care education for clients, and kennel duties as needed to promote animal comfort and health Assist in emergency medicine situations by providing critical care interventions in accordance with veterinary protocols Possibility of working in multiple different positions Qualifications Valid certification or license as a Registered Veterinary Technician or equivalent Proven experience in veterinary settings with skills in animal husbandry, anesthesia, laboratory work, and emergency care Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and surgical assistance techniques Experience with diagnostic radiology including X-ray operation and radiology diagnostics interpretation Ability to handle animals confidently using proper restraint methods for various species including dogs and horses Familiarity with veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment scheduling (Avimark) Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration Join us to be part of a passionate team dedicated to advancing animal health through compassionate care and innovative veterinary practices. Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
