Job Description

This position is ideal for an experienced Veterinary Technician who is confident working in a high-volume surgical environment and takes pride in being an essential part of a well-organized surgical team. Candidates should be motivated to join our fast-paced spay and neuter clinic focusing on our mission of providing high-quality, compassionate, efficient surgical care while maintaining excellent patient safety and welfare.

Responsibilities:

Safely and confidently restrain dogs and cats for examinations, vaccinations, procedures, and sample collection. Administer vaccines and medications accurately and safely. Obtain and evaluate patient vital signs. Prepare patients for surgery, including clipping, cleaning, and surgical prep. Assist with anesthesia induction, maintenance, and monitoring. Recover patients from anesthesia and monitor them through recovery. Maintain infection-control and surgical safety protocols. Support efficient team workflow while maintaining high standards of patient care. Assist with equipment, surgical supplies, treatment areas, and kennel upkeep. Provide compassionate, low-stress handling of patients in a high-volume setting. Must be able to lift 40 lbs Requirements we are looking for: Previous veterinary technician experience. Strong experience with dog and cat restraint. Experience administering vaccines and medications. Demonstrated experience with anesthesia monitoring. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize changes in patient condition. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Dependable, punctual, and positive under pressure. Commitment to high standards of animal welfare and patient safety.

Preferred Experience:

Prior experience in a high-volume spay/neuter or surgical practice. Experience with high-volume anesthesia protocols. Surgical prep, anesthesia recovery, and patient monitoring experience. IV catheter placement and blood collection. Experience in shelter, rescue, or community medicine settings.

Pay:

$14+/hr (dependent upon experience)
