Role Overview We are seeking an Animal Research Technician to support essential in vivo/ex vivo research and development activities at our Cambridge research facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a background in Biology, Animal Science, Neuroscience, or a related discipline who are interested in hands-on laboratory and animal research. Entry-level candidates with a Biology degree and no prior professional experience will be considered. Candidates with previous animal handling, laboratory research, or drug administration experience are strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Follow established laboratory procedures, protocols, and schedules under appropriate supervision, including required weekend, holiday, and off-hours rotations. Perform basic in vivo techniques across multiple species and develop proficiency in new advanced in vivo/ex vivo techniques. Handle and care for research animals in accordance with established procedures, animal welfare standards, and applicable regulations. Maintain laboratory equipment through routine cleaning, sanitization, inspection, and stocking of supplies. Observe equipment and instrumentation performance and assist with identifying and troubleshooting issues. Accurately document procedures, observations, results, and any procedural variances. Communicate deviations, observations, and operational concerns clearly to appropriate team members. Complete all required training within established timelines. Apply training and technical knowledge to make appropriate decisions while executing assigned responsibilities. Perform routine and increasingly complex laboratory and research-support techniques competently. Support changing research and development priorities through direct participation in in/ex vivo research activities. Maintain accurate records and follow departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and designated task schedules. Adhere to corporate standards and applicable regulatory requirements related to safety, animal care, controlled substances, radioactive materials, GxP compliance, and laboratory conduct. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related life-science discipline; entry-level candidates are welcome. Animal care/animal handling experience is required. Basic computer skills. Ability to carefully follow established protocols, procedures, and schedules. Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills. Ability to work effectively in a highly regulated research environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience administering drugs or compounds to laboratory animals. Previous laboratory or biomedical research experience. Background in neuroscience, animal behavior, pharmacology, or related research. Experience performing basic in vivo techniques. Familiarity with laboratory equipment, instrumentation, SOPs, and research documentation. Experience working in a regulated GxP or GLP environment.

Pay:
