Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals and possess excellent communication skills to provide exceptional customer service in a veterinary clinic setting. Pay depends on experience and training. 30 hours per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
Veterinary Technician/Assistant Animal care: Feeding, grooming, weighing, and bathing inpatient animals Facility care: Cleaning and disinfecting cages, kennels, examination rooms, and equipment Animal health: Using least restraint technique to hold animal during exams under supervision of Veterinarian.
Medical procedures:
Assisting with emergencies and providing nursing care before/after surgery Surgical assistance: Preparing equipment, passing instruments to veterinarians, and monitoring anesthesia Administrative duties: Scheduling appointments, calling patients, and keeping records Front Desk duties: Greet clients and their pets warmly and assist them with check-in procedures
  • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk area
  • Collect and process payments for services rendered
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information in the practice management system
  • Provide Client education on medications, procedures, tests, etc....
  • Accept payment and give receiptsand Provide support in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the reception area
Qualifications:
  • Experience or knowledge in pet sitting, cat/dog handling, or dog training is preferred
  • Familiarity with animal anatomy, physiology, and care practices is advantageous
  • Previous experience as a veterinary assistant/technician or in animal handling is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • must be able to stand for periods of time and lift 50 pounds
