Job Description
Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists (CVSS) is hiring a full
- time Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team in Annapolis, MD!
Compensation:
$34- 52/hr (based on experience & skill set). Sign
- on
Bonus:
$2,500!Schedule:
Overnight shift- 7pm•7am.
- hour shifts per week.
Position Overview:
Our ICU Veterinary Technician promotes a professional, patient-focused environment within the ICU and plays a vital role in supporting our surgeons with the care of postoperative and critical surgical patients. This position requires strong independence, excellent clinical judgment, and compassionate care. Our ICU Veterinary Technician works closely with surgeons and collaborates with all CVSS team members to ensure the highest standards of patient care, communication, and teamwork.Position Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year ICU experience as a Veterinary Technician (RVT/ CVT/ LVT preferred but not required). Applicants with strong ICU experience will be considered. Commitment to CVSS's mission, vision, and values. Demonstrates excellence in nursing care and critical thinking. Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-intensity environment. Strong time-management skills, initiative, and task prioritization. Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful situations.Experience & Skill Set:
Proficient in calculating drug dosages and administering IV medications and fluids Check for pulse deficits Recognize if an EKG is abnormal Experience with feeding tubes Skilled in venipuncture & IV catheter placement/ phlebotomy Ability to use a doppler, chest tube maintenance, jug catheter maintenance Bladder expression Strong patient monitoring and nursing care abilities Excellent communication and teamwork skillsCompensation & Benefits:
