Licensed Veterinary Technician - Specialty Veterinary Surgical Centers | Gaithersburg, MD $32.00-$40.00/hour, depending on experience and certification Looking for a specialty technician role with a life-friendly schedule? Our Gaithersburg location combines advanced surgical services with a collaborative specialty environment where technicians are valued as critical members of the patient care team. You'll work closely with board-certified surgeons and other specialty professionals on a fascinating and rewarding caseload that includes: Orthopedic surgery Soft tissue surgery Advanced imaging (CT and MRI) Complex anesthesia cases Specialty patient care and recovery No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to continually grow your skills while making a meaningful impact on patients and their families. What You'll Do Assist board-certified surgeons during procedures and patient care Monitor anesthesia using advanced multi-parameter equipment Perform laboratory procedures and prepare outside laboratory samples Obtain patient histories, weights, and vital signs Provide exceptional nursing care for hospitalized patients Assist with patient admissions, transfers, recoveries, and discharges Support CT and MRI procedures Deliver compassionate, professional client communication Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and inventory What We're Looking For Current Maryland Licensed Veterinary Technician credential Associate degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program Minimum 5 years of veterinary experience Specialty, surgery, anesthesia, or advanced nursing experience strongly preferred CT and MRI experience preferred but not required Strong communication and critical thinking skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced specialty environment Passion for providing exceptional patient care Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork VTS (Anesthesia) and VTS (Surgery) candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
