Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, ensuring smooth workflow and patient safety Perform animal restraint and handling with care to facilitate procedures and minimize stress for pets Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately following veterinary protocols Conduct laboratory work including blood draws (phlebotomy), sample processing, and diagnostic testing to support accurate diagnoses Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, radiology diagnostics, anesthesia monitors, and other veterinary tools with precision Maintain aseptic techniques during surgical assistance and ensure sterile environments for procedures Monitor animals under anesthesia (general anesthesia and veterinary anesthesia monitoring) during surgeries or procedures Assist with pet grooming, pet care routines, and kennel management to promote overall well-being of animals in our care Support emergency medicine cases by providing critical care, IV insertion (vascular access), and animal catheterization when needed Document all procedures accurately in veterinary software while maintaining detailed patient records Skills Proven experience working as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar veterinary support role with veterinary technician experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and general animal husbandry practices Skilled in dog handling, animal restraint techniques, and pet grooming to ensure safety for animals and staff Experience with laboratory work including phlebotomy, diagnostic radiology, radiology diagnostics, and laboratory testing procedures Familiarity with medical equipment operation such as X-ray machines, anesthesia monitors, and surgical instruments Ability to perform IV insertion (vascular access), animal catheterization, and assist with veterinary surgical procedures effectively Knowledge of emergency medicine protocols including critical & intensive care situations and medication administration Excellent client communication skills to explain treatments clearly and provide compassionate pet care advice Proficiency with veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment scheduling Understanding of aseptic technique principles to prevent infections during surgical or invasive procedures Embark on a fulfilling career where your skills directly impact the health and happiness of animals.
