Full Job Description Duties:
  • Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures, including routine TPR's and gathering history from clients
  • Venipuncture for phlebotomy and IVC placement and IV injections
  • Administering SQ fluids and medications
  • Work in conjunction with all staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team
  • Recognize subtle change in clinical status and communicating with the team about patient status
  • Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their pet's back home with them
  • Complete estimates and invoicing for clients, basic record keeping in EMR (knowledge of EzyVet is a plus, but not required)
  • Surgical preparation and assisting
  • Anesthesia monitoring and recovery, including drafting drug protocols, intubating, and knowledge of normal anesthesia values (knowledge of VetRadar or any DAR is a plus, but not required)
  • Lab analysis skills, including fecal screens, urinalysis, in-house chemistry analysis, manual and automatic CBC's, cytological interpretation, preparing samples for external lab analysis
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Veterinary technician certification or degree preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
