Full Job Description Job Overview:
Must be a registered veterinarian technician or be currently enrolled to be registered veterinary technician. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Veterinary Technician (or in school and will be a veterinary technician soon) to join our dynamic veterinary team. Our clinic is a walk-in only, 5 doctor team, that practices high-quality medicine. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, assist veterinarians with medical procedures, and ensure the smooth operation of our animal care facility. Your expertise in animal handling, veterinary terminology, and clinical techniques will help deliver top-tier veterinary services and promote the health and well-being of our diverse animal patients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your skills make a real difference. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing animals and equipment. Perform animal restraint using proper techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory tests, including sample collection and analysis, to support diagnostic efforts. Maintain accurate medical records, including treatment plans, medication logs, and laboratory results. Administer treatments such as injections, wound care, and dental procedures using aseptic techniques. Handle pet grooming, pet care routines, and basic animal husbandry to promote comfort and health. Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines and assist with radiographic procedures. Support animal catheterization, intravenous access, and other critical care procedures as needed. Manage kennel duties including cleaning, feeding, and monitoring animals' behavior and health status. Assist with equine care when applicable, including handling large animals safely and knowledge of equine anatomy. Skills Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy. Proven experience with animal handling across various species including dogs, cats, horses, and small mammals. Skilled in dog training techniques and dog handling to ensure cooperative behavior during examinations. Experience with dental terminology and procedures related to pet dentistry. Familiarity with laboratory testing procedures and equipment operation. Ability to perform animal restraint safely for diagnostic or treatment purposes. Knowledge of aseptic techniques to prevent infection during surgical or invasive procedures. Competence in pet grooming practices to support overall pet care routines. Experience with radiography (X-ray) imaging for diagnostic purposes. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and educate pet owners on animal care needs.
