Job Description

You became a veterinary technician to make a difference. Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT) - Missouri This position is available only to licensed veterinary technicians eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri. Very few people choose this profession because they love placing catheters, drawing blood, or monitoring anesthetic machines. Those are skills we learn, but they aren't the reason most of us entered veterinary medicine. People become veterinary technicians because they care deeply about patients. They find fulfillment in watching a dog regain the ability to walk, seeing a frightened family become hopeful again, or sitting quietly beside a recovering patient until they are comfortable enough to rest. They appreciate that healing is often found in the small moments—careful observation, gentle reassurance, and simply being present. At The Animal Neurology Center, we've intentionally built a hospital that allows technicians to spend more time doing exactly that. Our staffing model, our workflows, and our investment in equipment are all designed with one goal in mind: to give our technicians the time and resources to provide exceptional, individualized patient care. Technology isn't the centerpiece of our hospital. Our patients are. Technology simply removes barriers so our team can focus where it belongs. Of course, practicing exceptional medicine requires exceptional tools. Our technicians work alongside specialists using Siemens MRI and CT imaging, advanced Mindray anesthesia and monitoring systems, 3D-printed surgical guides and neurosurgical technology found in very few hospitals. These aren't amenities we showcase because they look impressive—they exist because they make medicine safer, more precise, and ultimately allow our technicians to spend more of their energy caring for patients rather than compensating for limitations. Just as important as the equipment is the environment in which you'll learn to use it. We believe every technician deserves the opportunity to practice at the highest level of the profession without ever feeling afraid to ask questions. Our doctors and senior technicians genuinely enjoy teaching. Whether you've been credentialed for six months or fifteen years, you'll find people who are invested in helping you grow. We don't believe knowledge is something to protect. We believe it's something to share. That philosophy extends well beyond the walls of our hospital. We invest in continuing education because we believe the future of our profession depends on developing exceptional technicians. Every team member receives up to $2,000 every two years toward national continuing education opportunities. Several members of our team recently returned from the ACVIM Forum in Seattle, one of the premier specialty conferences in veterinary medicine, bringing new ideas back to the hospital and sharing what they learned with everyone else. None of this matters, however, if you don't enjoy coming to work. Veterinary medicine is demanding. The pace is fast, emotions run high, and too many hospitals accept unhealthy cultures as an unavoidable part of the profession. We don't. Culture is built intentionally through the choices we make every day, especially when things become difficult. Our leadership team believes that supporting one another is just as important as supporting our patients. We have honest conversations, assume good intentions, celebrate successes together, and work through challenges as one team. Everything we do is guided by our core values: Compassionate Excellence We believe extraordinary medicine begins with extraordinary compassion. Clinical excellence and genuine kindness are inseparable, and every patient deserves both. Education at Every Level Learning never stops. Whether you're teaching a colleague, mentoring a student, educating a client, or expanding your own skills, every interaction is an opportunity to grow. Innovation with Impact We embrace new ideas and technologies only when they meaningfully improve patient care, advance our profession, or create a better experience for our team and clients. Candor and Integrity Trust is built through honesty. We communicate openly, have difficult conversations respectfully, admit mistakes, and always choose what is right over what is easy. Commitment to Growth Growth is expected, encouraged, and supported. We challenge ourselves to become better clinicians, teammates, leaders, and people every day. Pride in Our Place Our hospital is a centerpoint for our community and we are proud to be a vital part of St. Louis and the midwest. Creating a Luxury Client Experience Families come to us during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. We strive to provide not only exceptional medicine, but also exceptional communication, empathy, hospitality, and service throughout their journey. We also believe that caring for our team is part of caring for our patients. Our benefits include competitive compensation, a 401(k), 50% employer-paid health insurance, pet wellness clinics and care allowances, generous continuing education support, and a workplace where autonomy is balanced with mentorship. Thursday, Friday and Saturday 8:00am - 6:00pm ( training hours to be determined, above set hours would not start until Oct 5th ) If you're looking for a position where you'll simply complete tasks, there are many excellent hospitals. If you're looking for a place where you'll know your patients, continue growing throughout your career, and work alongside people who genuinely want to see you succeed, we'd love to meet you.
