Job Description

Immediate opening for a mixed animal Licensed Veterinary Technician ( LVT )! We strive to provide the best service for our clients and our patients while remaining proud and protective of the positive, team oriented culture we have developed! The ideal applicant is not a wallflower, but willing to jump in and work side by side with their veterinarians, assistant technicians, and fellow LVTs. This applicant advocates for not only their patients, but the client experience as well. We are a mixed animal practice (approximately 50% bovine, 30% small animal, and 20% equine) in beautiful Absarokee, Montana with a second small animal only clinic in nearby Columbus, MT. Our four doctor practice offers full services for our bovine and agricultural patients: herd health & preventative care, surgical, breeding, intensive care, podiatry, and emergency services before and after hours. For our equine and small animal patients, we offer a wide range of services: preventative care, expanding surgical services, dental care, intensive equine services, acupuncture, and emergency services. All of our patients have advanced equipment available for therapeutics and diagnostics: Abaxis analyzers & modern laboratory services, ultrasonography, radiography, dental, and more. Preferred technical skills revolve around the ability to perform and/or assist with DVM ordered treatments: anesthetic induction & maintenance, anesthetic monitoring, medical mathematics, sterile and non-sterile surgical assisting, canine and feline restraint, medication administration, client education, medical record entry, emergency triage, vaccine administration, and other duties. Preferred education includes an associate's or bachelor's degree in veterinary science or veterinary technical science. Required education includes a willingness to learn and progressive performance. Stillwater Veterinary Clinic maintains a one year probationary period for all employees. Licensed veterinary technician wages begin at $20/hour. Performance and a demonstrated skill base during the first 90 days of employment will influence wage increases. Non-licensed, recent graduates from AVMA accredited veterinary technical programs that qualify and are scheduled to sit for the VTNE, will begin with wages at $18/hour. Performance and a demonstrated skill base during the first 90 days of employment will influence wage increases.
Location:
This position splits time between our two locations in Absarokee, MT & Columbus, MT. Daily shifts are scheduled for a full day at one location.
