This position is with a local 501c3 feline rescue group. If you are looking for a low stress part-time position that allows you extensive time with rescued cats and kittens, time to complete tasks without pressure, and the ability to use your training and knowledge in an environment that shares your love for felines, then this might be what you are looking for! We are seeking a part time veterinary assistant/tech to work in the Wake Forest area. (Experience and applicable skills necessary but do not have to be credentialed. Must be proficient at drawing blood, medicating and evaluating cats and kittens, and have experience with neonates ). The applicant needs to have extensive experience dealing the cats and kittens of all ages as well as feral and difficult cats. The job involves intake of rescued cats and kittens with the ability to recognize issues and treat as needed. The applicant must be able to work alone and independently, respond to medical questions and issues with cats and kittens in the rescue, be able to work efficiently with record keeping both on the computer and otherwise, respond and work with veterinarians, and manage a small shelter situation with associated duties, and good communication skills are essential. As with all animal related positions, there is a A LOT of cleaning and care. Efficient time management is essential. The position is 12

• 16 hours a week. Morning shift is either 8:00
• 12:00 or 9:00
• 1:00, and evenings are 3:00 till 7:00 or 4:00
• 8:00.

Currently, we are looking for someone for Tuesday and Thursday evenings, Saturday morning, and the third Sunday of every month. Start and end times are somewhat flexible as listed above with the potential to pick up additional shifts if interested and as needed.

00 per hour Application Question(s): Do you have experience with bottle babies such as bottle feeding, tube feeding, enemas, and other practices with very small kittens? Do you have experience in dealing with feral or fractious cats? Are you comfortable with handling unknown cats and kittens alone and without help? Are you familiar with FIP treatment and the protcols? Describe your experience. Are you able to conduct common tests (SNAP, COMBO, PARVO)? Do you have the experience and knowledge to recognize common kitten and cat illnesses by symptom and know the associated treatment/medications?
