Job Description
Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, CVT, RVT)Join the Team at Pinkerton Animal Hospital! Pinkerton Animal Hospital is looking for a compassionate, motivated, and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, CVT, RVT) to join our growing team! We are a busy, fast-paced small animal practice that takes pride in providing high-quality medicine and compassionate care to the pets and families we serve. As an important part of our veterinary team, you will work closely with our doctors and staff to provide exceptional patient care while utilizing your skills and knowledge to their fullest potential. We are looking for someone who is dependable, team-oriented, confident in their technical skills, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of animals and their owners. Schedule & Work-Life Balance Four 10-hour shifts per week On-call responsibilities are required and shared among the team Opportunities to utilize and grow your technical skills in a busy and diverse practice What You'll Do As a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, CVT, RVT) at Pinkerton Animal Hospital, you will play a vital role in patient care and daily hospital operations.
Responsibilities include:
Assist veterinarians during patient examinations, treatments, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures Safely restrain and handle patients while prioritizing their comfort and well-being Collect laboratory samples, including blood draws and urine samples, and perform in-house diagnostic testing Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture and other technical procedures Administer medications, vaccines, fluids, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures Monitor patients under anesthesia and provide attentive recovery care Assist with radiology and diagnostic imaging procedures Maintain proper aseptic and surgical techniques Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in patient condition to the veterinary team Assist with emergency and urgent cases in a fast-paced environment Educate and communicate with pet owners regarding treatments, medications, and post-operative care Maintain accurate patient records and assist with treatment documentation Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient hospital environment Collaborate with doctors, technicians, assistants, and client service representatives to provide exceptional patient and client care What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate: Is a Licensed, Certified, or Registered Veterinary Technician (LVT, CVT, or RVT) Has strong animal handling and restraint skills Is confident with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory procedures, and patient monitoring Has experience with or a willingness to grow in surgical assistance and anesthesia monitoring Can remain calm, organized, and efficient in a busy and sometimes high-pressure environment Has excellent communication and client service skills Is dependable, motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team Is passionate about animal welfare and providing compassionate patient care Is eager to continue learning and developing their veterinary skills Why Pinkerton Animal Hospital?
