Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced, Veterinary Technician (or assistant!) to join our team at Northwood Veterinary Hospital. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent care to our animal patients, our human clients, and provide support to our veterinary team. If you are passionate about animal welfare, have strong technical skills, and thrive in a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply. We are an independently owned hospital that likes to make sure it's employees don't feel like listening to loud screaming music on their way home (unless loud screaming music is your passion!) Key Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures. Perform laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and fecal tests. Prepare and administer medications as directed by veterinarians. Monitor and record patients' vital signs. Take diagnostic imaging (e.g., X-rays). Educate pet owners on animal care and welfare. Maintain accurate medical records. Clean and maintain medical instruments and equipment. And more!
Requirements:
Certification or Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent experience preferred but not required! Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting preferred. Proficiency in animal handling and restraint. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively. Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners. Willingness to learn and stay updated on veterinary best practices.
