Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians in providing high-quality care for a diverse range of animal patients, including dogs, cats, and exotic animals. This role involves performing technical procedures, animal handling, and client communication to ensure optimal health and well-being of our patients. Prior veterinary technician experience and knowledge of veterinary terminology are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures Perform animal restraint and handling using proper techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and interpret results to aid in diagnosis Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians Maintain accurate medical records and document all procedures performed Assist with radiography including X-ray procedures while adhering to aseptic techniques Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during surgical procedures Provide pet care instructions to clients and educate them on animal health needs Maintain cleanliness of the clinic environment following infection control protocols Skills Kennel experience and animal husbandry skills Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices and veterinary terminology Laboratory experience including sample collection and analysis Strong dog and cat handling skills and animal physiology knowledge Expertise in animal restraint, anatomy, and pet grooming techniques a plus Familiarity with X-ray procedures and aseptic techniques Ability to perform animal catheterization and manage complex pet care routines Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration Experience with dog training, pet grooming, or pet care is advantageous This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic veterinary environment where your skills will directly contribute to the health and happiness of animals.
