Position Overview:

This role is responsible for providing anesthetic, perioperative, and nursing support for patients undergoing diagnostic, surgical, and therapeutic procedures. This individual works closely with veterinarians and fellow nursing staff to ensure safe anesthetic management, accurate monitoring, thorough documentation, and excellent patient care from preparation through recovery. Once your shift begins, you will step into a fast-paced, team-centered hospital environment where your skills truly matter. A typical day may include reviewing the anesthesia schedule, preparing machines and monitoring equipment, checking drug protocols, and ensuring each patient is properly worked up and ready for their procedure. Throughout the day, you may place IV catheters, induce and maintain anesthesia, monitor vital parameters, assist with advanced procedures, troubleshoot concerns in real time, and support safe, smooth recoveries. This role is ideal for a technician who thrives on precision, values teamwork, and takes pride in advocating for patients at every stage of care. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Prepare patients, equipment, and medications for anesthesia and procedural support while ensuring procedural readiness and patient safety Induce, maintain, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia, including patient assessment support, catheter placement, intubation, monitoring, and recovery care Recognize changes in patient status, communicate promptly with veterinarians, and adjust support as directed throughout procedures Operate and troubleshoot anesthesia machines, ventilators, infusion pumps, and monitoring equipment while maintaining accurate anesthesia and treatment records S upport a clean, organized, and efficient workflow while collaborating with doctors, technicians, assistants, and other departments to ensure continuity of care Skills & Qualifications Veterinary technician experience required; anesthesia experience strongly preferred Credentialed Veterinary Technician preferred, though strong experienced candidates may be considered Strong knowledge of anesthetic monitoring, patient recovery, drug calculations, and perioperative nursing care Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking ability, and comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills Expectations of Conduct All of our staff is expected to demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and accountability in all aspects of the role.
