Bark Ave Veterinary Urgent Care is an independently owned, veterinarian-led urgent care hospital looking for an experienced veterinary technician/nurse to join our clinical team. We offer the interesting medicine, procedures, anesthesia, surgery and emergency cases that make ER exciting — without overnight shifts or the environment of a traditional 24/7 emergency hospital. The Schedule Our hospital schedule is designed to provide urgent care when pet owners need us most while creating a more sustainable schedule for our team:

Monday-Thursday:

5 PM-10

PM Friday & Saturday:

11 AM-11

PM Sunday:

Closed No overnight shifts We are open to discussing full-time or part-time scheduling with the right experienced candidate. You do not necessarily need to work every hospital day. This could be an especially great fit for an ER/specialty technician who wants to leave overnight medicine, someone looking for consistent evening hours, or an experienced technician interested in adding a few higher-level clinical shifts each week. What You'll Get to Do Bark Ave bridges the gap between general practice and the traditional emergency room. Our caseload includes urgent medical cases, emergency stabilization and procedural/surgical medicine. Depending on the day, you may assist with: Emergency triage and stabilization Anesthesia and advanced patient monitoring Soft tissue and abdominal surgery Wound repairs Pyometra and splenic surgery Endoscopy/foreign-body cases Dentistry and dental anesthesia Digital radiography In-house laboratory diagnostics Ultrasound/POCUS Oxygen therapy Hospitalized patient care We practice high-quality medicine and want our technicians actively involved in patient care and clinical decision-making. Who We're Looking For This is not an entry-level technician position. We're looking for someone who can walk onto a busy treatment floor, assess what is happening, recognize priorities and confidently support the veterinarian and other team members. Our ideal candidate is comfortable with: IV catheter placement and venipuncture Anesthetic induction, maintenance, monitoring and recovery Recognizing and responding to anesthetic complications Medical math, drug calculations and CRIs Emergency triage and patient stabilization Digital radiography Surgical preparation and sterile technique Dentistry Patient monitoring and nursing care Accurate medical documentation Managing multiple patients and competing priorities Strong anesthesia skills are especially important for this position.
