Job Overview Do you want to join a team who pride themselves on providing excellent customer service and practicing a high standard of medicine? If you said yes, The Animal Hospital of Roxbury may be the right fit for you! We are located in Ledgewood, NJ and offer a wide range of services to the community including medical, surgical, dental, grooming, and boarding. We are looking for an experienced technician to join our team. The right candidate must have veterinary experience and possess the skills and qualifications listed below. We offer competitive compensation based on experience, medical benefits, CE, employee discounts, uniform allowance, profit sharing, and more for full-time employees. You'll enjoy a 4-day work week and NO weekends or on-call! We do require at least 1 late night (8:00pm).
Required Technician Skills:
  • Venipuncture
  • Catheter Placement
  • Anesthesia Administration and Monitoring
  • Drug Calculations
  • Surgical Pre and Post-op Care
  • Dental Scale and Polish
  • Dental Radiographs
  • Proficiency in Radiographs and Positioning
  • Proper Administration of Injections (IV, IM, SQ)
  • Use of Laboratory Equipment (in-house lab machines, microscope, etc.)
  • Preparation and Reading of Specimens (ear/skin cytology, blood samples, etc.)
  • Triage Patients
  • Keep Accurate Medical Records
  • General Hospital Maintenance Qualifications
  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) desirable, but not required
  • 2+ years of veterinary technician experience
  • Working knowledge of standard industry tools and equipment
  • Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and track record of being reliable
  • Possess flexibility, positivity, and a "can-do" attitude in a busy environment
  • Able to restrain larger pets when necessary
  • Able to lift 40 pounds
  • Proficient use of computers The right candidate is a team player who is willing to teach others as well as learn new skills.
Must contribute to the team's daily function by cleaning/sanitizing, restocking supplies, answering phone calls, and other duties as assigned. This is a full-time position. Our office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30am-6pm and Monday, Thursday 8:30am-8:00pm. Compensation will be based on relevant experience and qualifications.
