Veterinary Technician

Veterinary Technicians are a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians in delivering comprehensive medical services, ensuring the well-being of our canine and feline patients. Your expertise in animal handling, laboratory and surgical procedures, and veterinary terminology will help create a positive environment for pets and their owners alike. Duties Assist veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Handle animals safely and confidently through proper restraint techniques, including dog training and animal husbandry practices, to facilitate examinations and procedures. Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnoses. Manage pet care routines including grooming, feeding, and administering medications while ensuring animal comfort and safety. Take and process X-ray images, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed for accurate diagnostics. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with pet dental care routines. Maintain detailed records of animal health, treatments, and laboratory results while adhering to veterinary critical care standards. Assist with animal catheterization, specimen collection, and other specialized veterinary technician tasks requiring animal anatomy knowledge. Qualifications Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy. Experience with laboratory procedures, X-ray imaging, and aseptic techniques in a veterinary setting. Strong surgical and dental skills are preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology and pet dental care practices. Demonstrated ability to handle animals safely during procedures involving animal catheterization or restraint.
