This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys the technical aspects of surgery, anesthesia, and patient care while working alongside a supportive group of veterinarians and technicians.

What You'll Be DoingAs a Surgical Veterinary Technician, you'll play a key role in ensuring safe and efficient surgical procedures from admission through recovery.

Surgical & Patient Care ResponsibilitiesPrepare patients for surgery and outpatient proceduresObtain patient histories and perform pre-operative assessmentsCalculate medication dosages and anesthesia protocols under veterinarian supervisionAdminister medications via SQ, IM, and IV routesPlace and maintain intravenous cathetersCalculate and manage fluid therapy throughout proceduresAnesthesia & MonitoringInduce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesiaPerform intubation and extubation proceduresMonitor ECG, capnography, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, and temperatureRecognize changes in patient status and communicate findings promptlyMaintain accurate anesthesia records throughout proceduresRecovery & Client CommunicationMonitor post-operative patients and assess comfort levelsAssist with pain management protocolsReview discharge instructions and medications with pet ownersEnsure accurate and complete medical record documentationSurgical Suite SupportPrepare, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipmentMaintain surgical packs and inventoryAssist in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient surgery departmentCollaborate closely with veterinarians and fellow team membersQualificationsMinimum 1 year of veterinary surgical technician experience requiredStrong anesthesia monitoring skills requiredDentistry experience preferredAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical settingStrong communication and teamwork skillsPassion for patient safety and quality veterinary medicineSchedule12-hour shiftsFull-time or part-time opportunities availableWeekend availability as neededBenefits$2,500 Sign-On Bonus (conditions apply)Competitive compensation401(k) with company matchMedical, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and paid holidaysContinuing education reimbursement for CVTs and LVTsMonthly bonus opportunitiesScrub allowanceEmployee pet care discountsFlexible scheduling optionsPaid parental leaveEmployee Assistance Program and behavioral health resourcesIf you're looking for a hospital where your surgical and anesthesia skills are valued and your professional growth is supported, we'd love to hear from you.
