Veterinary Technician Schumacher Veterinary Clinic Las Cruces, NM Job Details Full-time $13 - $15 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Driver's License Organizational skills Typing Full Job Description Schumacher Veterinary Clinic is looking for a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary environment while providing excellent patient care. Full time position working Monday through Friday 7am -5 pm. 3 days per month on-call after hours- will include one weekend.
Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures Prepare and maintain examination rooms and surgical areas Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians Perform laboratory tests and analyze results Take x-rays Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments Provide post-operative care to animals Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition Maintain accurate records of patient information
Skills:
Proficient in aseptic technique for maintaining a sterile environment Knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy preferred Strong pet care skills, including feeding, grooming, and administering medications Ability to handle animals safely and with compassion Familiarity with animal catheterization procedures preferred Understanding of veterinary terminology and medical procedures Skill in animal restraint techniques Qualifications Exceptional customer service and communication skills Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced setting Effective communication with clients and coworkers Comfortable working with a variety of animals Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
