Job Description
Are you an experienced veterinary technician looking for a non traditional position that makes a big impact for patients with significantly less client contact? Part-time veterinary technician position available for experienced Veterinary Technician with interest in surgery (HQHVSN) in Hudson Falls, NY. Schedule is 3 day work week Tuesday through Thursday (7:30am-3:00pm) approximately 20-24hrs. Previous veterinary experience (traditional or spay/neuter) preferred although willing to train recent graduate. Ability/willingness to thrive in a fast paced dynamic surgical environment. Responsibilities will include patient exams and assessments, surgery prep, pre-med and induction, anesthesia monitoring, post surgical recovery, administration of medications/patient treatments, medication handling, some client communication (not in the sense of a traditional clinic), computer skills/record management, etc. Must be able to multi-task and think on your feet when needed. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised a plus. Successful candidates must be timely, focused, caring and interested in providing high quality veterinary care. Current certification/licensing preferred, but willing to consider all experienced candidates. Interested applicants will be required to demonstrate competency prior to hire, however some on site training is available.
