Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in the care and treatment of animals. Your expertise in animal handling and veterinary practices will be crucial in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary terminology, along with a passion for pet care. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor the health and behavior of animals before, during, and after procedures. Provide proper animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both staff and animals. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Prepare animals for surgery, including catheterization, intubation and aseptic technique. Routine dental xrays, scaling, and curettage. Skills MUST be Licensed in the state of New York and can provide proof upon interview. Proficient in animal handling techniques to ensure safe interactions with pets. Strong knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy to assist in medical assessments. Familiarity with veterinary terminology to communicate effectively within the team. Experience in dog handling and training to support behavioral assessments. Competence in animal restraint methods for safe examinations and treatments. Ability to perform animal catheterization with precision under supervision. Understanding of aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
