Job Description

Bay Road Animal Hospital is a single-veterinarian, small-team practice dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our patients and clients. We are seeking a dependable, team-oriented Licensed Veterinary Technician who thrives in a close-knit environment and takes pride in patient care, efficiency, teamwork, and client communication. We are currently hiring for either a part-time (24 hours/week) or full-time (40 hours/week) position. This role is ideal for an LVT who enjoys being hands-on, values strong communication, and is comfortable taking initiative in a fast-paced general practice setting. Responsibilities Place and maintain IV catheters (IVC) Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia Assist the veterinarian during exams, procedures, and surgeries Administer treatments, medications, and vaccines as prescribed Perform venipuncture, laboratory sample collection, and in-house lab testing Take and position patients for radiographs Monitor hospitalized patients and provide nursing care Prepare surgical packs and maintain aseptic technique Maintain accurate and thorough medical records Provide clear client communication regarding treatment plans, estimates, discharge instructions, and at-home care Answer client questions and help educate owners on preventative care, medications, and recovery expectations Assist with patient restraint and handling to ensure safety for staff and patients Help maintain a clean, organized treatment and surgical area Requirements Current Veterinary Technician License Strong skills in anesthesia monitoring and patient care Proficiency with venipuncture, catheter placement, and radiographs Knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical assisting Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a small team environment Excellent communication and organizational skills Positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed What We Offer Supportive, team-focused work environment Opportunity to play a key role in patient care, hospital flow, and client experience Consistent schedule in a general practice setting Competitive pay based on experience If you are a motivated LVT who enjoys working closely with a veterinarian, supporting clients, and being an essential part of a small, dedicated team, we would love to meet you!
