Rocky Point Animal HospitalLicensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)

Saturday RotationPay Range:
$23$29 per hour (based on experience)Rocky Point Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced veterinary technician to become part of our veterinary team. Our caseload includes traditional companion animals as well as a unique mix of exotic patients, including birds, reptiles, pocket pets, and fish. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys variety, teamwork, and being an important part of the patient-care process.

What Youll Be DoingIn this role, youll work closely with our veterinarians and support staff throughout the patient-care experience.
Your day may include:
Supporting doctors during wellness visits, sick appointments, procedures, and surgeriesCollecting samples and performing in-house laboratory testingDrawing blood and obtaining diagnostic samplesTaking and processing radiographsAdministering medications, injections, and prescribed treatmentsPreparing surgical patients and assisting with recovery and post-operative monitoringMonitoring patients and communicating changes to the veterinary teamMaintaining thorough and accurate patient recordsProviding clients with instructions regarding medications, nutrition, follow-up care, and treatment plansSafely handling and restraining patients while maintaining a calm, compassionate approachHelping keep treatment areas, equipment, and workspaces organized and ready for the dayWhat Were Looking ForWere seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician who is confident in a clinical setting and enjoys working as part of a team.

Ideal candidates will have:

An active LVT credentialPrevious experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinical settingStrong technical and patient-care skillsThe ability to communicate effectively with veterinarians, coworkers, and pet ownersExcellent attention to detail and follow-throughA dependable, team-oriented approachComfort working in a busy environment with multiple prioritiesWillingness to participate in a rotating Saturday scheduleExperience with Impromed and/or IDEXX is a plusWhat We OfferWe believe great veterinary professionals deserve meaningful support both inside and outside the hospital.
