Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, ensuring all protocols are followed with precision. Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence to ensure safety for both pets and staff during treatments and examinations. Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and interpret results to support accurate diagnoses. Maintain detailed medical records, including veterinary terminology, animal physiology data, and treatment plans. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments while adhering to aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Support pet care activities such as grooming, feeding, and monitoring pet behavior to promote comfort and health. Operate diagnostic equipment including X-ray machines, ensuring proper positioning and safety procedures are followed. Assist with animal husbandry tasks like cleaning cages, feeding animals, and maintaining a clean clinical environment. Support pet owners by providing education on pet care, dental terminology, and post-treatment instructions. Handle diverse species including dogs, cats, equines (horses), and small mammals with expert animal handling skills. Experience Proven veterinary technician experience or equivalent certification as an LVT. Extensive kennel experience with animals of various sizes and temperaments. Knowledge of veterinary terminology related to animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care procedures. Hands-on laboratory experience including sample collection, processing, and analysis. Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices such as animal catheterization and aseptic techniques. Experience working with X-ray imaging equipment for diagnostic purposes.
