Job Description
Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Akron is in need of a Registered Veterinary Technician - Oncology Department. Primary responsibilities would include, but is not limited to: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with doctors, staff and clients regarding patient status is essential Ability to monitor and manage patients under anesthesia Administration of oral and parenteral medication Administration and proper handling and preparation of Chemotherapy agents Ability to assess side effects of common Chemotherapy drugs used Ability to anticipate needs of the doctor Animal Restraint Blood pressure assessment Calculation and administration of CRI Assisting with continuous oxygen ECG IV Catheter placement Pain assessment Ability to perform CPR Placement, care and maintenance of urinary catheters Proper collection and performance of in-house blood tests Proper collection and packaging of out-lab blood tests Ability to recognize signs of shock Vital sign assessment Candidates must be a licensed RVT in the State of Ohio with a proven ability to function in a fast paced environment. Experience in an emergency facility preferred.
