Just Cats Hospital in South Euclid, OH is hiring an experienced veterinary technician to join our team. Our mission is to provide high-quality veterinary care to cats in a comforting and fear-free environment. The Role As our Dental & Surgical Technician, you'll work directly alongside our veterinarian as a true partner in dentistry and surgery — not just support staff. Because it's a one-doctor practice, you'll have real ownership over the dental/surgical patients and a lot of trust placed in your judgment and technique.
Responsibilities include:
Performing dental cleanings, charting, and radiographs under veterinarian supervision Assisting with dental extractions and oral surgery Preparing patients for surgery: pre-op bloodwork, IV catheter placement, induction, and monitoring anesthesia Monitoring vitals and anesthesia depth throughout surgical/dental procedures independently when appropriate Maintaining sterile technique and surgical instrument care/sterilization Recovery monitoring and post-op client education Maintaining accurate medical records Helping keep the dental/surgical suite stocked, organized, and running efficiently (all-hands nature of a small practice) While dental and surgical work is the core of this role, as part of a small team you'll also help out with general appointment support as needed, including: Taking and processing radiographs Collecting and processing labwork Assisting with wellness appointments (vaccines, exams, nail trims, etc.) Assisting with sick patient appointments (restraint, sample collection, treatments) What We're Looking For Current RVT license in good standing Experience with dental radiography and anesthesia monitoring Comfort and confidence handling feline patients, including fractious cats Comfortable working in a small-team environment and wearing multiple hats when needed Self-motivated and able to work with a high degree of independence Strong communication skills for client education A genuine love of cats is a must Employee benefits include a uniform and CE allowance, reduced-cost veterinary care, paid time off, and more.
