Key Responsibilities Patient Check-In & Triage:
Greet clients, take comprehensive patient medical histories, record baseline vitals, and assist with initial triage.
Diagnostics & Imaging:
Perform venipuncture, run in-house laboratory equipment, process laboratory samples, capture digital radiographs, and assist DVMs during diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
Procedure & Doctor Assistance:
Prepare procedure suites for internal medicine cases, assist clinicians during non-surgical interventions, and manage scope handling and fluoroscopy setup.
Equipment Care & Sterilization:
Maintain, sanitize, and properly process specialized medical instrumentation, including flexible/rigid endoscopes, the medical endoscope tower, ultrasound units, and diagnostic lab equipment.
Patient Recovery & Care:
Monitor patients post-procedure, maintain clean and comfortable recovery housing, and ensure ongoing patient monitoring under clinician direction.
Client Education & Discharges:
Assist with discharging patients, reviewing DVM discharge instructions with pet owners, and answering routine care questions.
Departmental Readiness:
Keep laboratory, pharmacy, treatment, special procedures, and imaging spaces clean, organized, and fully stocked. Qualifications 1-2 years of clinical veterinary assistant or uncertified technician experience in a veterinary practice. Strong proficiency in patient handling/restraint, venipuncture, sample collection, and basic laboratory procedures. Familiarity with veterinary software (ezyVet experience is a plus) and medical record keeping. Excellent detail orientation, scope/instrument care discipline, and communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent required; formal veterinary assistant training or coursework preferred.

$21.00 - $26.00 per hour
