MAIN, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate pet care, assisting with diagnostics and surgical procedures. Your expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional veterinary services and promoting animal health. Duties Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, and surgical/dental procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Perform animal restraint and handling while ensuring safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory tests, including sample collection, processing, and analysis. Maintain detailed medical records, documenting treatments, procedures, patient progress and client communications in compliance with clinic standards. Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic imaging such as X-ray, ensuring proper positioning and restraint. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians with precision and care. Dispense and refill pet medication as well as instruct owners on administration. Schedule recheck appointments and discuss home care instructions with clients. Maintain cleanliness of the hospital and practice proper infection control measures. Requirements Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or similar role within a veterinary setting. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary procedures. Experience with drawing blood, laboratory techniques, X-ray operation, animal catheterization, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform animal restraint effectively across various species. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of animal welfare.
