Job Description Core Responsibilities Clinical Care :
Take vital signs, collect blood or tissue samples, and give medications.
Surgery Support :
Prep surgical tools, induce and monitor anesthesia, and track patient recovery.
Laboratory Work :
Run in-house blood work, fecal exams, and urinalysis.
Client Communication :
Explain at-home care, medication schedules, and dietary needs to pet owners. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]
Qualifications and Requirements Education :
Earn an associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited veterinary technology program.
Licensing :
Pass the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) and hold an active state license.
