Job Description
Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and welfare, with the ability to assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to a variety of animals. This role requires proficiency in both clinical and laboratory procedures, as well as excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment through proper aseptic technique. Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, while maintaining accurate records of results. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor animal patients during recovery from anesthesia or medical procedures, providing critical care when necessary. Maintain dental terminology knowledge to assist in dental cleanings and procedures for various animal species. Conduct X-Ray imaging as required for diagnostic purposes while adhering to safety protocols. Provide education to pet owners regarding animal health, nutrition, and preventive care. Experience Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is required. Strong skills in dog handling and general animal handling techniques are essential. Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices is highly desirable. Experience with animal catheterization procedures is required.
