Job Summary We are seeking a passionate Veterinary Technician Training Specialist to lead the development and delivery of training programs that enhance the technical skills, efficiency, and professional growth of veterinary teams across our organization. This role is responsible for onboarding new clinic teams, improving workflow efficiency, coaching underperforming clinics, and promoting best practices in veterinary medicine and patient care. The ideal candidate is an experienced veterinary technician with a passion for teaching, mentoring, and driving operational excellence.
Duties:
New Clinic Startup & Onboarding:
Train newly established clinic teams on efficient patient workflow and case management. Provide hands-on instruction for managing high-volume appointment schedules and procedural caseloads.
Coach teams on effectively balancing:
Exam room appointments Surgical and procedural patients Drop-off appointments Deliver technical and clinical skills training to veterinary technicians and support staff. Assist teams in implementing standard operating procedures and best practices.
Ongoing Training & Performance Improvement:
Assess clinic workflows and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and productivity. Provide targeted coaching and technical training to clinics requiring additional support. Monitor key performance indicators, including: Wellness and sick patient appointment volume Surgical and dental procedure volume Drop-off appointment management Conduct on-site observations and workflow analyses to identify operational challenges. Partner with operational leaders to address clinic concerns and support continuous improvement initiatives. Serve as a mentor and resource for veterinary teams throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in good standing. Ability and willingness to travel to veterinary hospital locations two to three times per week. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain reliable transportation for frequent travel between clinic locations. Minimum of 10 years of experience in specialty veterinary medicine, high-volume general practice, or shelter medicine. Exceptional coaching, mentoring, and communication skills. Ability to assess team performance, identify training needs, and implement effective solutions. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Ability to deliver direct, constructive feedback while maintaining a positive and supportive culture. Proficiency with training, presentation, and learning technologies preferred.
