In-Office | Camden, SC Our client is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join their small animal clinical team in Camden, SC. This is an in-office, hands-on role supporting veterinarians and ensuring exceptional patient care from intake to discharge. $13.00•$20.00/hour, based on experience 401k + Company Matching Health and Dental Insurance Benefits Pet Insurance Discounts Paid Time Off A Day in the Life of the Veterinary Technician In this role, you'll play a vital part in delivering high-quality medical care to small animal patients. Our client relies on their Vet Techs to keep exam rooms and surgery prepped, assist during procedures, perform diagnostics, and ensure accurate medical records. From triaging walk-ins to supporting surgical procedures, you'll help maintain smooth hospital operations while delivering compassionate care to every patient and client.Responsibilities include:
Reporting to work on time and preparing for scheduled appointments, emergencies, and walk-ins Stocking exam and surgery rooms; preparing vaccines, syringes, drugs, and equipment Assisting veterinarians with exams, treatments, and patient care Positioning and restraining animals safely for examination and procedures Taking and developing radiographs while following all safety protocols Measuring and recording vital signs (weight, temperature, pulse, respiration) and noting abnormalities Performing general physical assessments and reporting findings to the veterinarian Collecting and preparing laboratory samples (blood, urine, feces, skin scrapings, tissue specimens) Preparing animals for surgery and serving as a scrub assistant during aseptic procedures Administering oral, topical, and parenteral medications and immunizations as directed Cleaning, packing, and autoclaving surgical instruments; maintaining sterile environments Maintaining accurate, up-to-date medical records and documenting supplies used Admitting and discharging patients per doctor's orders and providing client education Communicating effectively with pet owners regarding patient history, symptoms, and care instructions Assisting reception and kennel staff as needed to ensure smooth workflow Monitoring medical supply levels and reporting equipment issues Following hospital policies, safety procedures, and standard operating protocols Participating in mandatory meetings and continuing to develop technical proficiencySchedule:
4 days a week. If you are working weekends, it's 3-3.5 weekdays + weekend shift Facility hours: 7:00 AM•6:00 PM, Staff start as early as 6:50 AM.Extended hours:
6:30 PM•7:00 PM occur due to emergency casesRequirements and Qualifications:
Prior clinical experience in a veterinary hospital•could be in school/training, internship experience, etc Prior experience with venipuncture, blood draws, vaccine administration, radiology setup, diagnostic prep Knowledge of flea and heartworm prevention Ability to work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff Strong communication skills and commitment to accurate documentation Commitment to safety, professionalism, and maintaining a clean work environment About theHiring Company:
