Job Description
Veterinary Assistant/LVT / or Equivalent Experience The role of veterinary assistant at Riverside Vet is vital to the team and patient experience to help ensure clients and patients have an excellent experience with us. This role is focused on patient care and client education and support. All Riverside Vet employees are expected to lead with kindness and treat with compassion. Riverside Vet opened in the summer of 2023. We currently have a great team of support staff who are the core of our veterinary practice. Skills expected from Veterinary Assistants/LVT include but are not limited to: Assist with anesthesia (induce under immediate supervision of DVM, maintain and recover under direct supervision of DVM), surgical procedures and dental procedures Perform prophylaxis dentals under direct supervision of DVM Pull samples from cephalic and saphenous veins with DVM present Fill prescribed medications SQ medication administration under immediate supervision of DVM Administer PO medications Client communication and education for procedures, treatments and medications Basic triage of patients in person and on the phone. Safe and calming patient restraint Nail trims Assist hospital team members with tasks and hospital flow as needed
