Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic ( and fun) veterinary team as a Licensed (Registered) Veterinary Technician as we strive to eliminate pet overpopulation and homelessness in our area. In this energetic role, you will utilize your technical expertise and compassionate approach to support veterinary professionals in delivering top-tier high volume spay/neuter to owned pets, Community Cat spay/neuter, shelter pet medicine and surgery, and community wellness and vaccine clinics. Your responsibilities will span from inducing and monitoring anesthesia and assisting in surgical procedures to performing diagnostic tests, while ensuring every pet receives the highest standard of care. We are committed to fostering a positive, collaborative environment where your skills make a real difference in the lives of animals and their owners in Oconee and surrounding counties. Duties Assist veterinarians during surgeries, examinations, and diagnostic procedures with precision and confidence Perform laboratory work including blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic tests using veterinary software and lab equipment Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately following veterinary protocols Proper animal restraint and animal husbandry to ensure safety and comfort for pets during procedures Operate medical equipment such as radiology diagnostics tools, anesthesia monitors and IV fluid pumps. Manage vascular access procedures including IV insertion and animal catheterization with aseptic technique. Support community wellness and vaccine clinics to encourage owners to keep pets in loving homes. Prepare surgical packs and maintain surgical equipment. Maintain general upkeep and cleanliness of facility. Requirements Valid license or registration as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent credential in your region. Prior veterinary experience desired. However, we will accept new grads as well. Wages commensurate with experience. Hands-on experience with dog and cat handling and restraint. Familiarity with veterinary laboratory work, diagnostic radiology, and medical equipment operation. Knowledge of veterinary anesthesia monitoring and emergency medicine protocols. Ability to communicate effectively with clients about pet care plans and treatment options. Prior experience with veterinary software systems (ClinicHQ, PetPoint) for record keeping and diagnostics is preferred. Prepare and maintain surgical packs and equipment. Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
