We are a busy, low-cost veterinary clinic committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care while maintaining a supportive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment. We're looking for someone who is confident in their technical skills, dependable, compassionate with both pets and people, and ready to be an important part of our clinical team.
Responsibilities include:
Reviewing patient records and preparing for scheduled appointments and procedures Assisting the veterinarian with examinations, treatments, and medical procedures Collecting and processing blood, urine, and fecal samples Administering medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian Performing dental cleanings and assisting with dental procedures Preparing patients for surgery Placing IV catheters and assisting with surgical preparation Monitoring patients under anesthesia and throughout recovery Preparing, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment Safely restraining and handling dogs and cats during examinations and procedures Recognizing changes in patient condition and communicating concerns to the veterinarian Educating clients regarding medications, preventative care, discharge instructions, and their pet's ongoing care Maintaining accurate medical records Helping maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area Providing compassionate, professional customer service to our clients
Qualifications:
Current Tennessee Veterinary Technician license/certification preferred Experienced veterinary assistants with strong clinical skills may also be considered Minimum of 2 years of veterinary clinical experience preferred Comfortable handling fearful, anxious, and stressed animals Experience with anesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation, venipuncture, catheter placement, and dentistry strongly preferred Fear Free certification is a plus Strong communication and organizational skills Dependable, professional, and able to work efficiently in a busy environment Able to work collaboratively and contribute positively to the team Benefits for
