At Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Knoxville (AESC) , our Overnight ICU team plays a critical role in providing advanced nursing care to the hospital's most complex and critically ill patients. This is more than patient monitoring—it's an opportunity to be actively involved in life-saving medicine every shift. Our ICU Technicians are the eyes and ears of the critical care team. Three 12-hour overnight shifts per week Four days off every week Dedicated overnight ICU and Emergency team Specialty-level medicine and advanced nursing care Overnight shift differential Sign-on bonus up to $2,500 Relocation assistance available Greater autonomy and clinical involvement Collaborative environment with Emergency and Specialty clinicians Opportunities to work at the top of your skill set Key Responsibilities - ICU & Emergency Medicine Monitor and manage hospitalized ICU and critical care patients throughout the night Perform advanced technical procedures including: IV catheter placement Blood collection and laboratory diagnostics Blood transfusions Continuous rate infusions (CRIs) Oxygen therapy management Mechanical ventilation monitoring Advanced patient monitoring and nursing care Assist with emergency stabilization and urgent interventions Recognize subtle patient changes and communicate findings to clinicians promptly Administer medications via IV, IM, SQ, oral, and injectable routes Deliver detailed patient assessments and treatment updates throughout the shift Work alongside Emergency, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Surgery teams Support advanced diagnostics and specialty treatment plans Expand your knowledge through exposure to complex medical and surgical cases Participate in patient rounds and case discussions Ensure seamless communication during shift transitions Collaborate closely with doctors and fellow technicians to deliver exceptional patient care Maintain accurate medical records and treatment logs Ensure ICU and treatment areas remain clean, organized, and stocked Support hospital-wide patient care standards and protocols ✅

What We're Looking For:

Innovetive Petcare Competitive Pay:

$21.00-$25.00/hr based on experience $26+/hr negotiable for actively Licensed Veterinary Technicians with relevant ER/Specialty experience Sign on bonus up to $2500 Relocation bonus available to the right candidate

Overnight Shift Differential:

We have an emergency and critical care unit that is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We have a variety of board-certified surgeons and specialists at AESC who treat a wide range of veterinary orthopedic, oncology, thoracic, abdominal, and soft-tissue conditions. Our team includes over 20 compassionate and highly trained Licensed Veterinary Technicians, numerous veterinary assistants, other support staff, and supportive administration. We have the latest specialized surgery and diagnostic instrumentation and equipment including 16-slice CT scanner, Vivid iQ echocardiogram platform, digital radiology, ultrasound systems, fluoroscopy unity, endoscopy, high-def Storz tower with new laparoscopic equipment, Arthrex equipment, LigaSure, Autocon III, Storz Ho-YAG laser, Synthes locking plates, and ESF equipment.
