Full-Time About Us Natchez Trace Veterinary Services is an integrative veterinary practice in Nashville, TN led by Dr. Marc Smith. We combine traditional veterinary medicine with Eastern and alternative therapies including acupuncture, herbal medicine, and nutrition to help pets live longer lives. Dr. Smith is also a co-founder of PET | TAO, an Eastern medicine-inspired pet food and supplement line, reflecting our practice's deep commitment to holistic medicine. With 25+ years of experience and more than 7,000 satisfied clients, we're looking for a skilled and dedicated LVT to join our team. Position Summary We are seeking a licensed Veterinary Technician to assist Dr. Smith and our team in providing excellent medical care for our patients, spanning both conventional and integrative treatment approaches. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position follows a standard weekday schedule with no nights or weekends required. Key Responsibilities Perform physical exams and record patient histories Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Place IV catheters and monitor patients under anesthesia Perform diagnostic testing, including bloodwork, urinalysis, and radiographs Assist with surgical procedures and maintain sterile technique Provide dental prophylaxis and assist with dental procedures Support integrative/holistic treatments (e.g., acupuncture, herbal therapy) as needed Educate clients on pet care, medications, and post-treatment instructions Maintain accurate and detailed medical records Restrain and handle animals safely and calmly Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment Qualifications Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program Current, active licensure as a Veterinary Technician in the State of Tennessee required prior to start date (no provisional or in-progress licensure accepted) Strong understanding of veterinary pharmacology, anesthesia, and laboratory procedures Comfortable and proficient using computers, including practice management software, digital records, and general office applications Excellent communication and client service skills Ability to lift 40+ lbs and stand for extended periods Prior clinical experience preferred Interest in or openness to integrative/holistic veterinary medicine Schedule Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (closed 12-1 for lunch). No nights, weekends, or on-call rotations.
