You'll provide end-to-end support for neurology patients—from outpatient appointments and diagnostics to anesthesia, treatment, and discharge—while keeping patients safe, clients informed, and the team running smoothly. Your Experience & Skills 2+ years of veterinary technician experience in a clinic or hospital (ER/specialty preferred) Credentialed technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) is a plus, but not required Strong technical skills: venipuncture, IV catheter placement, basic lab sample handling, and patient monitoring Comfortable restraining and positioning patients safely, including neurologic or painful patients Anesthesia experience: induction, monitoring, and recovery; ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient status Experience supporting advanced imaging and procedures (MRI/CT/radiology, surgery, ventilator) is a plus Clear, compassionate communication with clients and teammates; strong customer service mindset Reliable follow-through, excellent attention to detail, and comfort working from established protocols Able to take direction, ask questions, and contribute to a positive, professional team environment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet in a fast-paced hospital environment, with or without reasonable accommodation Genuine love of dogs and cats and a commitment to patient comfort and safety
Role Responsibilities:
Support the Neurology service's day-to-day operations by completing technical and administrative duties per hospital protocols and delivering excellent patient care and client service. You'll work under the guidance of a doctor, lead technician, or approved colleague until training competencies are signed off. Our goal is to help you become a confident, independent technician who values teamwork. Support daily service flow as a proactive team player; complete tasks as assigned and anticipate next steps Admit and discharge patients, including client greeting, history gathering, and vitals/TPR Assist doctors with exams, consults, outpatient treatments, and rechecks Obtain and process diagnostics (venipuncture, blood draws, catheter placement, radiographs, Doppler blood pressure, lab submissions, etc.) Restrain and position patients safely for exams, imaging, and procedures Set up and assist with radiology/advanced imaging workflows; prepare patients and equipment per protocol Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia for basic and complex cases; support MRI suite and surgical cases as trained Provide in-hospital nursing care, including comfort care, monitoring, medication administration as directed, and husbandry Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients; provide discharge instructions and at-home care education Maintain treatment areas and supplies: stocking, cleaning, equipment set-up, and safe disposal of materials Complete daily/weekly/monthly hospital tasks and participate in the on-call rotation as scheduled You'll Grow with Us Here, you can grow your career as best fits you through access to comprehensive learning and skillset programs.
