Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join the team at Garth Animal Hospital , a brand-new, full-service veterinary clinic. We care for small animals (dogs, cats) as well as exotic and pocket pets. Our mission is to provide exceptional care for pets and their people in a welcoming, low-stress environment, following Fear Free principles. Responsibilities Assist the veterinarian during examinations, treatments, and surgeries. Perform diagnostic tests (including lab work and radiographs) and prepare samples. Administer medications, vaccinations, and fluid therapy. Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures. Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients about patient care and home instructions. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper stocking of exam and treatment areas. Safely handle and restrain dogs, cats, exotic pets, and small animals in a Fear Free manner. Requirements Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician (1+ years preferred). Proficiency in common veterinary technical skills such as venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, and dental prophylaxis (preferred). Comfort handling dogs, cats, exotic pets, and small animals with compassion and care. Ability to safely lift up to 55 lbs and assist with handling larger animals as needed.
