About the role The Veterinary Technician at Animal Urgent Care plays a vital role in providing exceptional medical care and compassionate support to our animal patients. This position is responsible for assisting veterinarians with patient care, treatment, diagnostics, surgical procedures, and client education while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and quality care. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced urgent care environment. They can prioritize tasks effectively, manage multiple patients simultaneously, and remain calm under pressure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as Veterinary Technicians work closely with clients, veterinarians, Client Experience Specialists, and the Managing Partner to deliver an outstanding patient and client experience. Successful candidates are detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to providing excellent patient care while maintaining a safe and efficient workplace. A willingness to learn, embrace new technologies, and adapt to an innovative and collaborative environment is essential. What you'll do Administering prescribed treatments. Running in-house lab samples. Performing radiographs. Drawing blood from all standard venous access points. Placing IV catheters. Inducing and monitoring anesthesia. Inputting notes and charges into the practice management system. Keeping the clinic in a clean and orderly state. Cross-trained in basic client experience responsibilities. Strong computer skills preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Google Suite software programs. Strong working knowledge of Vetspire, Waitwell and CoVet preferred. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple patients and competing responsibilities. Excellent communication and customer service skills with both clients and team members. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care, safety, and professionalism. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as required.
