Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician and become a vital part of delivering exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will assist veterinarians in providing comprehensive medical services, perform animal handling and restraint, and support diagnostic procedures to ensure our patients receive the highest quality treatment. Your expertise will help create a compassionate environment where animals thrive and owners feel confident in the care their pets receive. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Handle animals safely and effectively, including dog training, animal restraint, and pet grooming to ensure smooth procedures and reduce stress for the animals. Perform laboratory tests such as blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic sample collections, maintaining accurate records of results. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology, assisting with cleaning, polishing, and applying treatments. Maintain detailed patient records including animal physiology data, anatomy notes, and veterinary terminology to ensure accurate documentation. Operate radiography equipment (X-ray) to assist in diagnostic imaging while adhering to safety protocols. Support pet care activities such as feeding, grooming, and administering medications under veterinarian supervision. Assist with animal husbandry tasks including cleaning kennels, monitoring animal behavior, and ensuring proper nutrition and comfort. Perform animal catheterization and other technical procedures with precision and care. Contribute to veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring vital signs and assisting in emergency situations. Experience Previous kennel experience or hands-on animal handling skills are highly valued. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology enhances your ability to support clinical procedures effectively. Experience working with laboratory equipment or performing diagnostic tests is advantageous. Knowledge of equine care or experience with large animals is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential. Proven ability to handle dogs confidently through dog handling or dog training background is preferred. Prior veterinary technician experience or internships demonstrate your commitment to professional growth in animal healthcare. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques, pet grooming practices, and pet care routines ensures comprehensive support for our patients. $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
