Assisting doctors during examinations, treatments, and procedures Safely restraining pets in a way that allows necessary procedures to be completed with minimal stress Taking accurate patient histories and medical notes for the veterinarian Obtaining temperatures, samples, and vital signs as requested Drawing up vaccines and flea and tick preventives as directed Assisting with medication fills and refills at the veterinarian's request Anticipating doctor needs during routine examinations and surgical visits Cleaning and preparing exam rooms for incoming patients in accordance with OSHA guidelines Following appropriate protocols related to infectious and zoonotic diseases Supporting measures designed to reduce or eliminate disease transmission Assisting with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory testing, radiology, and other technical procedures based on experience Supporting surgical and perioperative patient care based on skill level Occasionally assisting with our outdoor vaccine clinic Experience with surgical technician responsibilities—including anesthetizing, maintaining, monitoring, and recovering patients perioperatively—is a plus, but not required. What You'll Bring We're looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician who combines strong technical ability with compassion, reliability, and a commitment to excellent patient care.Our ideal candidate brings:
A high school diploma or equivalent Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician Strong animal handling and restraint skills Experience interacting professionally with clients and customers A commitment to patient safety and low-stress handling Strong attention to detail The ability to take accurate patient histories and medical notes An understanding of common infectious and zoonotic diseases Excellent communication and teamwork skills Availability to work weekends, typically every other weekend Experience with surgery, advanced animal care, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory testing, radiology, and pharmacology is highly preferred.
