Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will assist our veterinarians in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your role will involve a variety of tasks, including animal handling, administering medications, performing laboratory tests, and providing general support to the veterinary team.Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal examinations
- Prepare animals for surgery and monitor their vital signs during procedures
- Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery progress
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient files
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer their questions or concerns
- Clean and sanitize examination rooms, surgical equipment, and kennels
- Assist with animal restraint when necessary
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or similar role
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques
- Familiarity with animal husbandry practices
- Ability to perform animal catheterization and administer medications
- Experience with X-ray imaging is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
