Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Veterinary Technician or strong assistant to join our dynamic Surgical veterinary team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional technical support during patient evaluations and complex surgical procedures, ensuring the highest standards of animal care and safety. Your expertise will help facilitate advanced surgeries, monitor anesthesia, assist with diagnostics, and deliver compassionate pet care. Duties Assist veterinary surgeons with specialty surgical procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and sterile protocols. Monitor and manage anesthesia using veterinary anesthesia monitoring equipment, maintaining patient stability throughout surgeries. Perform vascular access procedures such as IV insertion and animal catheterization to facilitate medication delivery and fluid therapy. Conduct diagnostic radiology including X-ray imaging and radiology diagnostics to support surgical planning and post-operative assessments. The ability to earn advanced dianostics such as CT. Support laboratory work by collecting samples, performing phlebotomy, and processing tests essential for patient diagnosis and treatment. Handle animal restraint with expertise in animal anatomy knowledge and animal physiology to ensure safety during procedures. Administer medications accurately, including critical & intensive care drugs, while documenting all treatments in veterinary software systems. Assist with pet care tasks such as animal husbandry, and emergency medicine to promote overall health and well-being. Operate medical equipment efficiently for diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing, and surgical assistance. Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, offering estimates, treatment plans, and post-surgical care requirements. Computer and data entry and phone support. Offer client-centric care in a professional and compassionate manner Assist with Urgent/ER coverage when needed Requirements Proven veterinary technician experience Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, animal physiology, and aseptic techniques. Hands-on experience with anesthesia administration, monitoring (veterinary anesthesia monitoring), IV insertion, and animal catheterization. Familiarity with diagnostic radiology procedures including X-ray operation and radiology diagnostics. Ability to learn CT diagnostics. Ability to safely handle dogs confidently using dog handling skills and animal restraint techniques Proficiency in laboratory work such as phlebotomy, veterinary laboratory testing, and sample processing. Experience operating medical equipment related to surgery support Excellent client communication skills to explain procedures clearly and compassionately. Knowledge of veterinary software systems for record-keeping and documentation purposes. Ability to work efficiently in emergency medicine scenarios while maintaining attention to detail during complex surgical interventions. Pay:
$21.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 34.0 - 40.0 per week
