Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to equine patients
- Perform general anesthesia, surgical preparation and assist with surgical procedures
- Assist with equine lameness examinations and restraint
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyze samples
- Perform radiographs
- Provide animal husbandry, including feeding, grooming, and cleaning for hospitalized patients
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals, maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment
- Assist in routine care, cleaning and maintenance of equipment, vehicles and facility
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, answer phones, perform billing and process payments as needed
Requirements:
- Certification or degree in veterinary technology (LVT/RVT/CVT)
- Experience in equine care and handling
- Knowledge in radiographic techniques and equipment operation
- Knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
