Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to equine patients
  • Perform general anesthesia, surgical preparation and assist with surgical procedures
  • Assist with equine lameness examinations and restraint
  • Conduct laboratory tests and analyze samples
  • Perform radiographs
  • Provide animal husbandry, including feeding, grooming, and cleaning for hospitalized patients
  • Monitor and record vital signs of animals, maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment
  • Assist in routine care, cleaning and maintenance of equipment, vehicles and facility
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, answer phones, perform billing and process payments as needed
Requirements:
  • Certification or degree in veterinary technology (LVT/RVT/CVT)
  • Experience in equine care and handling
  • Knowledge in radiographic techniques and equipment operation
  • Knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy
  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
