Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment Perform animal restraint using humane techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff during procedures Collect blood samples (phlebotomy), perform laboratory work, and operate diagnostic radiology equipment including X-ray machines Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately following veterinary protocols Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures, including general anesthesia and veterinary anesthesia monitoring, ensuring patient stability Maintain detailed medical records using veterinary software, documenting treatments, procedures, and patient progress Support emergency medicine efforts by providing critical care, including vascular access (IV insertion) and animal catheterization as needed Experience Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or similar role with knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology Hands-on experience with kennel management, pet grooming, dog handling, and animal husbandry practices Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as phlebotomy and diagnostic radiology including X-ray operation and radiology diagnostics Experience assisting with veterinary surgical procedures and critical & intensive care situations Strong understanding of aseptic technique, medication administration, and veterinary anesthesia monitoring Ability to handle diverse animals confidently, including equine (horse) experience preferred but not required Proficiency in veterinary software systems for record keeping and client communication Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference in the lives of animals and their owners.
