Pender Veterinary Center services the cat, dog, and exotic pet community within the northern Virginia region. For more than 50 years, Pender Veterinary Centre has been a place where pet owners bring their beloved animal friends to receive care from an established team of passionate, experienced veterinarians. Today, Pender stands out amongst other animal care centers for its ability to set the highest standards for all veterinary teams through our philanthropic and development programs. We are looking to hire a dedicated part-time individual with evening and weekend availability to our Lab team!

Our Lab:

Using

IMMULITE 2000

XPi system, Sysmex XT 2000, Sysmex UF 1000, and Beckman Coulter AU 480 we test Canine TLI, Cobalamine, Folate, TSH, Free T4, T4, Cortisol, Progesterone, cTLI/Cobalamine/Folate, T4/Free T4/TSH, and others. We perform 200-300 tests per day. We are growing this part of our practice to double this capacity.

Essential Job Duties:

Comfortable working with bodily fluids- blood, fecal, urine, etc. Run laboratory testing on various samples collected in-hospital; document process, review results/ findings, relay results to appropriate department/doctor Communicate effectively with Veterinary Doctors, Technicians, and Assistants Process various samples for overnight shipping to third-party laboratory facilities Track shipped samples for pickup, arrival, and relay of results/findings
